Since 2004, Eugene has been teaching babies as young as 3 months to adults as old as 103. Born in Ukraine and raised in Ohio, Eugene relocated to L.A. to pursue a career in acting while simultaneously working as a paramedic and swim instructor. In 2013, he established Coach Eugene's Swim Lessons, specializing in personalized, one-on-one instruction. Eugene utilizes comprehensive techniques and methods developed over his two decades of experience.

Hi, Coach Eugene here! Mastering proper form and technique are essential for preventing serious injuries in sports, especially swimming. My own experience underscores this importance. I was instructed by individuals who lacked proficiency themselves, leading to the hard lesson of multiple shoulder surgeries due to minor errors in stroke technique. Despite being an expert swimmer, I suffered the consequences of learning from non-professionals. Because of this, I am confident you'll learn more in one session with me, than four with them!

Coach Eugene's hourly rate comes from 20 years of experience as a professional coach and swim instructor. Rates fluctuate based on seasonal demand and are higher during the summer. (August - September are peak demand). Compared to facilities which hire teenagers with a lifeguard license being the only prerequisite to teach, this rate is around the average price for one-on-one instruction in Southern California. Eugene's sessions are an hour long, versus some who have 45, 30, or even 20 minute classes. An hour-long class ensures greater skill retention and development of muscle memory.
